The Mediterranean lands share the same climate with the California hills, central Chile, the Cape province in South Africa and south west of Australia.
In each of these countries grows a vegetation that, like the Mediterranean one, adapts well to cold and rainy winters and hot and arid summers typical of the Mediterranean climate.
The spontaneous bush in Australia is called heath, matorral in Chile, fynbos in South Africa and chaparral in California. We looked at these equivalent of our natural vegetation in search of new plants. Here we offer a selection of plants suitable to our gardens.
